  • Here is where some of the “ART” of the custom rod comes in. All my fly rods will have a jungle cock feather inlay of some type. They started out with a single eye and have evolved to their current state using all the types of feathers from the cape.

  • TOP PHOTO - Letting the rod and the feathers “speak” to me. Looking at the space and feathers, letting them tell me what form the design should take.

  • After the the general design is decided upon and feathers selected the process begins.

  • BOTTOM PHOTO - Back ground breast feathers are adhered to the rod using a diluted solution of color preservative and allowed to dry. These give depth and make the jungle cock eyes seem to float.
