Making The Grip (con't)
Done
  • The grip and reel seat are buffed with a soft cotton cloth, then tung oil is reapplied and rebuffed until the desired finish is obtained. This picture does not show the beautiful iridescence of the Koa wood.
On the blank
The grip is hand reamed for an exact fit on the blank. Everything is dry fit to check for correctness. We are ready to glue on the grip and start wrapping the guides.
New Woods for Your Grip and Reel Seat
I recently received some of these "fantastically" beautiful woods. One of them can be featured in the grip and reel seat of that very special rod I can build for you. Check out some of my other grips in Gallery2, then e-mail me at: dennis@harperflyrods.com
